Villa Montaperti
A road meanders up from the Era valley, the ‘valley of the Mills’, to Villa Montaperti the setting for our Pilates Holidays in 2007. An ‘Agrihotel’, the villa belonged to the noble Leonori Cecina family and has been renovated by the present owners with extreme care. From its hilltop position one can look up still further to the Etruscan town of Volterra, only 6km away, and across the Florentine and Sienese countryside.
Through the gate a path leads to the tabletop garden. The shade of the cypress and olive trees provides a perfect setting for the large swimming pool, dining and Pilates.
The Villa offers spacious standard and superior ensuite rooms, furnished with discrete style. The nearby annexe houses the Cantina and Taverna, where Tuscan wines may be appreciated and meals enjoyed.
Our relaxing, truly individual holiday is a journey through the body and this beautiful corner of Tuscany. We feel at home here and would like to share our favourite restaurants, vineyards, Pecorino cheese farms and hilltop towns. Volterra is a fascinating focal point and our way leads you in comfort to Mazzolla, Siena, San Gimignano, Pienza, a thermal spa near Montalcino ... We aim to avoid the ‘madding crowds’!
